Conference on peace, security and the development: Belgium implies.
The speech very applauded of Mr. Jozef Smets, special ambassador of Belgium in the Great Lakes with the conference on peace, the security and the development of the provinces of North and the South-Kivu highlight the interest of Belgium for a democratic republic of Congo pacified and developed.
It announced the diplomatic visits of the Foreign Ministers and of the development co-operation in Kinshasa and Goma.
Sunday January 20, 2008, Mr Charles Michel, Belgian Minister for the development co-operation came to join to the ballet negotiations and of dialogue for peace to the east of Congo.
At the sides of Hugues Chantry, general consul of Kivu, he met President Joseph Kabila, the president of the Parliament and president of the wise committee, Vital Kamerhe, and the priest Apollinaire Malumalu, president of the Conference of Goma.
Belgium resolved 200.000 euros to contribute to the financing of this conference on peace.
Belgium posed concrete actions at the beginning of the democratization of the country. Today, it accompanies and is implied in the new process for a better future to bequeath to the Congolese posterity.
